New challenge

Since Monday I start a job at new school. I hope it will be a good year but not easy one. In the previous school I have been working for 12 years. So from Monday new headmasmaster, new staff, new students and new challrenges.
New school system forced me to find a new job.

The last Sunday in August

Today is the last Sunday in August and the day is very sunny and hot. It is beautiful summer but it also almost the end of school holidays. Children start school on 2 September but teachers a week earlier. I hope you have a great Sunday.

Katowice main square

In the morning I was in Katowice my province capital city. It is 16 km from my apartment it takes about 20 minutes to get there but of course it depends on the traffic. It was sunny morning. I took photo on the main square at 9 a.m.

A nice small town


I visited this place yesterday it looks interesting. 

Radzionków - urban commune; Tarnowskie Góry County; Śląskie Voivodship - German name: Radzionkau.
Radzionków is a town in Silesia in southern Poland, near Katowice. Borders on the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union - metropolis, located in the Silesian Highlands.It is situated in the Silesian Voivodeship since its formation in 1999, previously in Katowice Voivodeship, and before then, of the Autonomous Silesian Voivodeship. Radzionków is one of the towns of the 2,7 million conurbation - Katowice urban area and within a greater Silesian metropolitan area populated by about 5,294,000 people. The population of the town is 17,163 (2008). Area: 13.2 sq.km (5.1 sq.mi).
Oldest mentions come from the years 1326-1357 in the Vatican's records of Peter's Pence - (Denarii Sancti Petri).
In the aftermath of the Silesian Wars it found itself under Prussian rule. It became an important center of coal mining industry.
In 1920 the town chose Poland voting 4778 to 862 in the Plebiscite. Relations between the Poles and the minority Germans were very good until the WW II.
The Nazis arrested many Polish activists and send them to the concentration camps. Some were executed.
After the WW II, the Germans and many Poles were deported, either to Germany or to the Soviet gulags.

Serious drought

This year it ia serious drought here so I think  we will lose a lot of crops this year. Prices for fruit and vegatables are crazy. It is getting higher and higher every day. What about my pumpkins in my garden in the countryside.

The old church in Krosno

Krosno is a small town in the south-east of Poland. It is well -known for glass factory which produces a handmade glass. It is also a town where you can find a lot of landmarks. Last month I visted a Holy Trinity Church which is very great.

Colours of summer

Hello Dear Friends

I am at my summer place and the weather is perfect sunny and hot. We are cycling and relaxing .
I hope you have a great summer too. It is very dry in Poland this year so it is a shortage of water.
Wehave experienced serious storms and tornadoes. Climate has changed for sure.
