My neighbourhood

17th June 2017

I spend weekend at my summer house. Unluckily the weather is rainy, cloudy and stormy. Luckily we have finished our work in the garden. We were weeding, planting and watering. So garden is ready for summer and holidays We are going to spend 6 weeks here. We start summer holidays at school on 23rd June and start school on 4th September.

In the evening yesterday at 8.30 p.m.  I was walking my dog and took photos.  The nature is beautiful, colourful and vibrant because it is almost summer. My neighbours are typical middle class who live in detached houses with garden and on the driveways there are 2 or 3 cars it dependens on the size of family. They live permanently here but some people like us live temporally or visit their houses at the long weekends.

Relationships are diplomatic but it is OK and it is typical nowadays in Europe.  We have small talks while do shopping or walking our pets or cleaning our gardens.

My home is my castle it is the suitable description of relationships among neighbours here.  But I really like this small town community in which we have lived since 2008 as temporary residents. It is so different from our big city life in apartment. It is 250 km from our city but culture and traditions are different. We live in part of the country which has belonged for 3 centuries to Germany.  Here it was Poland  but for 50 years it belonged to Austria. Polish history is very complicated.

We have learned a lot here and have experienced a lot of nice local events.  Living here I have discovered my green fingers and I love my small garden with flowers and apple trees and so on. So it is my place on this Earth.
