Mosque in Aksaray

2nd May 2015

Turkey is a country based on Muslims. So it it completely different from Poland. I don't want to assess which religion is better. But I can say religion here  it is very interesting  for me and I admire Muslims and their devoting to their God. Their mosques are completely different from Roman Catholic Churches. One day in the evening we  visit traditional mosque in Aksaray. It was located on the hill.

On the way to Mosque

Cementary next to Mosque..

Interior of the Mosque

People before entering to the Mosque wash their feet, hands and face

You must take off your shoes before entering to the Mosque- it is compulsory.

The carpet is soft and comfortable for praiyng

As a stranger woman you can cover your head - showing respect for this religion but it not compulsory..

Part for women. The can't pray with men..

Tomorrow be continue..

  1. I have not been inside a mosque even though Muslim is the majority in my country. I noticed that the design of the mosque and the tombstones are different from those over here.

    1. Cynthia , the curtained off areas are for women only because they can not pray with men. It is a basic rule in the Muslim religion.. The position of women in this religion is so strange

  3. Interesting and bare.
Never been inside one, but have seen one when travelling within Australia. We don't have one where I live, but there is one inside the University here in Launceston.
