One direction south-east.

5th July 2014

Today is my favourite day of the week Saturday. In the morning I was in Bytom . It was the last day before our vacations here and we left our apartment. We are going to come back in the end of August. It is our routine every year as teachers. We must escape for a while from busy city and polluted environment.

While I was walking my dog I took some photos. As you know most people in my city live in the flats. So  it is not possible to organise BBQ so some people have had small gardens nearby their flats. In these gardens they spend their free time, relax or grow mainly beautiful flowers. Some people who are very brave grow veggies in their small gardens but I don't think so it is healthy in big Silesia Conurbation. Definitely the air is not fresh and what about thousands cars driving here every day, mines, factories, power stations and so... It is a question.

My city

Typical small garden where city families spend their free time especially at the weekends or in the afternoons.

Just a small wooden hut.

Roses are the most popular flowers.

Some people grow only trees

And different space for relax.

In the afternoon while we were driving to Jedlicze I also took some pics when we took a break for a cup of coffee and ice cream.

Highway which leads to our summer house.

And our dog. He is 5. He is a good boy but so lively. Luckily he loves travelling.

Goodbye Silesia.

    1. Andrew, thanks a lot. His name is Ciapek in English it means "clumsy". The caravan is very old it was produced in 1970s now in Poland caravans are not in fashion people prefer spending holidays in comfortable hotels.

  4. I like your dog, he is very cute there with his tongue hanging out.
Enjoy your holiday as I am sure you will - it's a good break away from teaching to rest your mind and so on.
The air is clean down here to grow the vegetables.....though the small city is in a valley which is prone to a bit of fog in winter, plus there isn't much wind either.
