Saint Adalbert's Church in Cracow

8th October 2014

This small church was built on the location where, according to legend, St. Adalbert  used to preach.
The first church was constructed before the Great Charter, and that why thee is no right angle at this corner of the Main Market Square. A Romanesque church was built upon the foundation of a former building, which was probably the oldest church in Cracow.
In the 18th century church was rebuilt in Baroque style, but crypts are still original, and there is a small museum which shows the medieval history of this city.

  2. Very interesting architecture. It seems to me that in Spain, mosques were built around Christian churchs, or the other way around? Anyone know for sure?

  3. Interesting to see a lot of round windows, I wonder why, if there is a reason or just that particular time.
