10th October 2014
On 2nd October when I was in Cracow with my international friends I was eating dumplings. I love dumplings but I am short of time so I have dumplings only buying them in the supermarket. But the homemade dumplings are the best. Mum sometimes makes them but the problem is I don't visit my parents very often they live in different part of country. My mother in law also made delicious dumplings when she was younger and in a good shape. So now the best choice for me is restaurant. There are a lot of dumplings restaurants in Cracow and in my opinion they offer good quality dumplings.
On of the them is at Szewska Street which I had visited to have dumplings. I chose dumplings with mushrooms and with meat they were fantastic and so cheap 12 dumplings for 12 zloty it means 4 dollars.

how wonderful! i recognize the word pierogi as they do sell frozen versions here in supermarkets. :)
ReplyDeleteNot many people here made homemade dumplings.
DeleteYes, I was going to say that, being from a Polish-heritage family, I recognize pierogi as the word we use, too :) We don't eat them much in my family these days, but my mom used to make them sometimes when I was younger. I usually think of dumplings as going with chicken and gravy, or one of the Chinese foods we eat, and hadn't really realized that pierogis are the same thing :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that I have seen that you have a blog!
Judith so it is different type of pierogi. I am very glad you want to visit my blog. Thanks Hugs from Poland.
DeleteThe dumplings look delicious! The restaurant also looks very neat, and I like how the young lady outside is dressed in traditional costume!
