Yesterday I visited my old neighbour who lived next to us 15 years but last year she decided to move to the nursing house. She is 83 years old and she is a cancer survivor so I visited her and brought her as a gift from my family- a small decorated Christmas Tree. She was so surprised I visited her because nobody of our neighbours don't remember about her. Nowadays all They are very busy and think only about themselves and their businesses. My neighbour is a widow her husband died 20 years ago and she didn't have any children or distant family. She comes from Ukraine ( now) after WWII she came here to Upper Silesia when the borders were changed. She missed her home and farm in Ukraine at that time she was a small girl and she has never visited her old homeland. I love my old neighbour because she was always very generous and friendly to me. I have learnt a lot of historical facts about Bytom after WWII. My hometown has belonged to Germany for 325 yeras and returned to Poland but we lost Eastern Ukraine ( now).

Hello Gosia, How kind of you to visit your former neighbor in the nursing home. I know you made her day so memorable. The decorations and Nativity are wonderful at the nursing home. Thanks for sharing the photo of the church, also. That is a beautiful building.

DeleteGlad you could visit your neighbor. Older people have so many interesting things they can talk of and tell us about, but sadly few people will take the time to listen--so nice of you to visit with her. Enjoyed the photos!
