Relaxing under palm trees in Katowice

9th June 2016

Wow it is not Spain but Katowice the capital of Upper Silesia. It is one of the busiest and the most developed city in Poland. Recently the square market was renovated and new design was introduced.
Palm trees appeared on the market square it is a decisios of local authorities. I think it is a great idea. The palm trees were hired from Gliwice.

All palm trees were planted in 1960s in Gliwice (the city located near Katowice)

Palm trees are located next to he artificial river and there are deck chairs for tourists and residents. They can enjoy the sun and relax in this busy place.

Palm trees in this place is not a novelty  they were in 1960s here later they were removed but now in 21st century come back again.

Palm trees will be here to the end of September.
