Silesian Musuem in Katowice- part 2

20th July 2105
Today pictorial walk through Silesian Museum inside. Exhibitions in museum present different aspects of Silesian people.

Art is one of the most important branches here. All pictures were made by Silesian artists.

Silesian life is based on coal -mining - so mine is presented here..

More photos tomorrow..

  1. The glass panels are wonderful.

  2. I too like the glass ones, different.

  3. I say the glass ones too! Looking forward to your next post!

  4. I do really love museums, and this looks like a special place.

    1. I love too but especially in hot days in summer or in winter

  5. Very nice and looks busy and popular.

  6. Very nice :) Margaret, please remind me... what does Silesian mean? I mean... what place are the people from? or does it mean something else?

  7. Judith Silesian are people who live in Upper Silesia - I live in this region too. They are different from others Poles because we live in the region which came back to Poland in 1945 after WWII and for 3 centuries it was Germany here. So the culture language is different and some people feel themselves as Silesian Nationality - which don't exist but some people are fighting for it. They want to havetheir own identity and state.. In Upper Silesia live about 5 million people..
