Pheasant..... a lovely bird
11th September 2015
I took this photo in August at my summer place. I love pheasants because they are lovely birds... but it is very difficult to the photo ...they afraid of people...
Masterpiece of nature...
I watched it every morning ... walking along the fence..
The women pheasants are smaller than men... and their feathers are not as beautiful as men..
Gosia Pheasants are not native to Australia, but I believe that imported ones for zoos etc. have escaped into the wilds. I have only seen them in zoos and in pictures. The male is called a "cock" and the female is a "hen" - same terms as poultry (chooks). Cheers Colin
a nice visitor!
ReplyDeleteI love him very much
DeleteA very handsome bird.
ReplyDeleteAndrew you are right but the cock is very noisy sometimes I have heard him at 5 a.m. while I was sleeping in the meadow..
