My grandparents from paternal and maternal side were born and grew in the US. Then they were brought by my great grandparents to Poland., So far I have written about my paternal grandparents but nowadays I ma going to write about my maternal grandmother who was born in Manchester in US.
Two weeks ago I got as a family treasure the small statue of Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus.
This small statue was bought in Manchester in 1899 and then brought to Poland where survived WWI and WWII and fire of house in 1945 ...
In my opinion is a miracle.... It is made of china... and so fragile . But has survived for next generations...
Story be continue..
That's nice for you to treasure and then your daughter after you.
ReplyDeleteAndrew you are right
DeleteVery lucky to have the stature. It sure is a miracle it survived all those years. Was meant to be so you could treasure it..
ReplyDeleteMargaret my opinion is the same
DeleteIncredible you can keep this in this state for more than 100 years.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
I am sure you are right
DeleteWhat a nice treasure and a miracle that it survived all it did and still looks so nice.
ReplyDeleteCynthia you are right and I don't know how it is possible to survive in the fire of the house. It was broken or damaged
DeleteThat is so very special. Thanks for sharing the story and photo.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome
DeleteThat is amazing how long it has lasted. Your family must have taken extra-special good care of it.
ReplyDeleteMy grndma took care of it carefully all her long life - 92 years old
DeleteThat's great to know. Many statues here in my country are claimed miraculous too. A great number of us here are Catholics also. I am a Catholic.
ReplyDeleteLei in Poland most people are Catholic.
DeleteWas that Manchester, New Hampshire? I think you've said before but I can't remember. So wonderful that the figurine has survived all that (and in such perfect condition)!
ReplyDeleteMitchell you are right Manchester NH. My maternal grandmother's sister grew there and her sister lived her all her life to her death..
