Running water is very expensive here

31st March 2016
In my place running water is really expensive especially if you live in a big conurbation. But I can admit that running water in the countryside is not cheap, too.
Walking in the countrysiude I have noticed some people have decided to build a well. I totally understan them.
It was the wise decision to build the well and save a lot of money..

First spring flowers.

As you can see in the photos above most owners install metal fences here which are more popular then wooden ones.

Is running water expensive in your place?

  2. The well is interesting. Water here is relative cheap in my opinion, but the poorest people might disagree with me. We often have restrictions about what water we can use in times of drought.

  3. Water here isn't expensive it's just all the taxes and bonds the city expects you to pay.

  4. water companies are funny in that we moved over the summer, same county just another town but over here we have a different water company, which is more than our old water company...our water bill itself isn't terribly expensive but the company adds things such as a use tax and other taxes which tack on another $20 on top of our water bill. glad these people were able to build wells!

    1. My dear friend if you have a detached house you can have a well bu living in apartment means you rely on water supply companies

  5. Thats a worry , expensive water, We pay ours with our rates. We have a water tank to collect water from the roof to help with watering the garden.

  6. Interestingly they charge us quite a bit for sewer fees on top of the water fees. Luckily, our water is pretty good here in Hawaii.

  8. Our water is not really expensive but I see lots of people taking our water supply for granted. I always try to collect rain water for my garden. Sometimes during dry period, in certain parts of our nation there is water rationing.

  9. Our water is not very expensive. For a family of 6, we paid $80-100 or so every month back when I took care of the billing--which was a few years back. I doubt it has changed much since then. And our water tastes great. But a lot of people out in the country like us do use their own wells. Some have good-tasting water, and some don't. I wonder how the water tastes at the well you pictured. We have a well on our property, but it's not in working order, and we haven't needed it since we moved here.

  10. IN some parts of the US, water is very expensive. My mom lives in Florida and does everything she can to conserve water. Where I am living in South Carolina we have a well and the only cost is the electricity to pump it to the house.
I've noticed you use the word conurbation a lot. It's a word I don't think I've ever heard used in the US, although I've seen it in print. Interesting.
