Living in country side - is it a good idea.

11th March 2016

I sometimes think that living in the countryside is nice opportunity and could be comfortable. But my personal is city - based. I would like to live in a peaceful quiet house close to the pond or forest. And  I would like to have a wooden white fence. But I have to work till 67 the current rules in Europe. So retirement at that age it means over 20 years to work ahead.  Maybe I won't live in the countryside because I die earlier. And my fence it is only a dream...

I would like  to have some chickens and ducks and I love touching them...

  1. Lots of fences have lions, but these ones are quite different to what we see here.

Aren't you getting rather macabre regarding your early departure from life???
I'm hopefully sure that you will have your nice country fence and the ducks and chickens one day. At least you will have fresh food and eggs and a good vegetable garden.
    Cheers

  5. I often fantasise about living near the sea or near a forest, and I when I have stayed in small communities like Italian tiny towns, my husband's village in Greece, or when I spent months living and working on Santorini many years ago, I always wanted to live there permanently. But I know the reality of village life is very different to how I experienced it even if I was there for months at a time.

  7. I too would love to live in the countryside where I can have ducks and chickens and also other animals. Of course it is just a dream. But living in the city has its advantages but I still prefer the countryside, more peaceful and healthier.

  8. Sigh... Much as I love the idea of living in the countryside, now that I'm older, I know we need to live where there are the conveniences of stores and especially hospitals.

  9. It is a long time when you say 20 years but it will pass quickly and then you will have another 20 years of fun in retirement with your fence and chickens and ducks.

  10. 20 years will go by without us knowing it Gosia! Let's stay healthy and happy so we'll enjoy retirement. That's my idea of comfort and beautiful life too. Blogging will take away the long time of waiting.
