Memory of the hottest summer I have ever experienced

21st August 2105

This summer was the hottest in my life. In Poland we have experienced heat stroke which lasted nearly month. The temperature was 35C degrees in the shadow. Because last years we didn't have winters so currently we have experienced the shortage of drinking water. Nowadays the situation is better and temperature 25C degrees so comfortable but the trouble is we don't have any rain.. Some regions have experienced storms...the lucky ones. Farmers have lost most of their crops..
The climate has changed... it is visible. According to weather people we are going to experience hot summer and no winters.... And in the future oranges trees are going to grow in my garden...

Poor tomatoes which have survived..

Drought!!!

Pumpkin which is waiting for Halloween for my English lesson

 Cucumbers ...........

Surely Poland has had drought conditions before.
The fields look reasonable enough to my eyes. The grass for the stock
    looks green and plentiful enough.

Looking forward to the 'Mystery Train" story and report from you.
It has been on the news here and in the papers.
It will be interesting if that train came from anywhere near Malbock
    Castle?????
    Cheers
    Colin

    1. Here is part of a news report:
" Local stories say the German train left for Breslau (now Wroclaw) in
April 1945 and headed westwards towards Waldenburg (now Walbrzyck) vanishing somewhere along the 60 klms journey".
Now trains just can't vanish, or can they?????

  5. The foliage looks green, but lots of days with heat.

  7. It looks as though you have been able to save a few things in your garden. Did the hollyhock seeds grow? I do hope you get some rain soon. South Carolina, where I a, living now, had it hottest June and July ever recorded.

  8. I remember learning the term in French for "heat wave" (canicule), when France had temperatures like that in the summer of 2003, for quite a number of weeks. I'm sure that there, too, even in the shade, it was hot hot hot, and didn't cool down much during the evening. I'm sorry to see your plants suffering, too! Ironically, our tomatoes here in St. Louis (Missouri, USA) are suffering because of too much rain and cool temperatures!

  9. Hotter than normal here in Florida, too. We expect heat, but we've had twice as many days above 90F than usual.
