14th August 2015
We have experienced the serious drought in Poland. Since 1st August there was not any rain. Every day is the same African heat I am not kidding over 36 C in the shadow ( above 90F) . There are a lot of problems. The level of water in the rivers is the lovest ever recorded. There are commercials on TV and radio that we must save water. Luckily in our town we don't have any problems with running water. I am sure we must install AC in our summer house. Today temperature in my house is 29C . The have appeared problems with electricity for big factories..
We have experienced over 30 days with temperature over 35 C ( 90F).
According to the meteorologist we must expect hotter and hotter summer every year. The climate is has changed definitely
Hi Gosia, the hot weather has been taken over with wet days and the change of weather has cause the cold and flu season to be back. Hubby and I are currently down with flu!
ReplyDeleteRecover soon. Hugs from Poland
DeleteIf factories have problems getting electricity, maybe your summer house air con will too? Did I read this correctly? You have had a month of daytime temperature over 35 degrees?
ReplyDeleteAndrew, luckily the energy is limited for factories not for private properties. And finally in the afternoon the Polish government decided to buy extra energy from Ukraine. You can't believe but we have 35 C every day... It is African heat in our climate zone. In Iothers Europeans countries situation is the same.
DeleteMy goodness, that is a lengthy spell of hot weather. Water is always a problem when no rain, let's hope it rains soon..
ReplyDeleteMargaret, what is worse according to weather forecast it is not going to rain till the end of August..
DeleteGosia, this sounds like the weather in Texas, although I think they did get some rain. But temps have been over 100. We are fortunate to be in the Northeast enjoying cooler weather. It will still be hot when we return next week, however. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard believe but I have never experience in my life so high temperatures for a long time. And no hope for rain maybe storm in some areas..
DeleteWow, that is hot with no air conditioning to escape into. Hope you get some relief soon.
ReplyDeleteGosia
ReplyDeleteI don't think you'd survive in the Australian summers. What 15 days without rain??
Some areas here haven't seen rain for more than a year!
Your present situation climate wise is the norm here.
I recall when visiting Europe in winter some very hot days - on the coastline and
inland like where Warsaw is located. I recall that in Nuremberg and Heidelberg
in Germany the temperatures were well over the 100 degree Fahrenheit but it was
thankfully the dry heat - not the humid heat.
Cheers
Colin (Brisbane.Australia)
Sorry - that visiting Europe above means - winter here in Australia and summer
Deletein the northern hemisphere - so I was in Europe during your summer time,
I'd dread to visit in your winter time - I can't anymore tolerate the cold
weather.
Colin
Sorry to hear about the drought! Hope you get some relief (rain and cooler weather) soon!
