Bytom -here started city a long time ago...

4th October 2015

We people live so short comparing how old is my city... The Margaret's hill  is the place where was the oldest building in Bytom. The hill is charming and picturesque.

Saint Margaret's Roman Catholic Church.

It is hard to believe but in 1165 America and Australa were not discovered... but we Pole were here.  ...

The church is surrounded by graveyard..

The way of cross

Today the weather  is great 24 C degrees and sunny. We call it "Polish golden autumn""

  1. Margaret's hill is indeed a beautiful ancient place. I can imagine the whole place being decorated with golden leaves!

  2. Yes, what a history that place has. Your trees are golden. Won't be long before ours are like that too here in Maryland, US.

  3. We call that weather "Indian Summer" - I'm hoping we have one in the next couple of weeks. Such an old country you have!

  4. It looks like a very pretty part of your city. Like Red Pat, we too call it an Indian Summer, but I don't think we had one this autumn past.

  7. Lovely Autumn colours. Not too bad that temperature report for your location
in Poland. Make the most of it - I guess it will drop soon rather quickly.
Here (11.45 am) in Brisbane it is 28 Celsius and expected to get
to 33 Celsius with no rain forecast until Friday.
The last thing I want is for rain when I go south - I want warm to
hot weather for some surf swimming - right at my accommodation doorstop!
It can rain as soon as I depart for back here in Brisbane.

Have you read the epic novel by James A. Michener called "Poland"?
Starts from A D 914 and follows this family and descendants right up to post WW2.
Should be compulsory reading as the author sticks to only historical events of the period with a fictional family intertwined with actual historical people through the decades. Right up to Lech Walesa and His Holiness Pope John Paul.

Yes Australian way back well before the history of your cities had just aboriginal tribes
of nomads mostly - lived off the land. I think they had a far better life then than now,
as did the native Indian tribes of the USA.
    Cheers
