Katowice our province capital city

6th October 2015

Katowice is a young city. It is only 150 years old. But my city is 760. I love Katowice because it is very modern city and traditional city.

  2. Mariacka Street seems to be vehicular free with outside dining places.
Katowice as it now is certainly goes back some time longer than 150 years.
Katowice certainly came to prominence during WW 2 battles etc.
I looked the city up and thank God after Joe "Blood Thirsty" Stalin died
in 1952 the Polish Communist Workers Party had the name changed to Staliniri,
thankfully that didn't go over well with the locals and why should it.

"Staliniri" had a very short life - thank God. Katowice won that name battle.
    Cheers

  3. For those of us in the States, it's really hard to imagine a city over 700 years old. We have some now approaching 200 years, but in Texas where I am in the west, things are very young.
